Inner beauty
I would like to axe this post in the line of beauty standing for peace. Inner beauty can be the same as inner peace.
Do not get me wrong when I talk about peace. I do not mean someone who is reserved or talks less. I am referencing the aura of calmness and confidence that envelops someone who is truly at peace with themselves, with life and with the world around them. An extrovert and a bubbly person can still exude inner peace. Let us not propagate hurtful stereotypes. Sometimes anxiety can be a silent killer. You only see its mark when staring straight into the soul of the person, through their eyes., its rampage being sinious, slow and undetectable to the untrained eye.
Inner peace's greatest and most lethal enemy is in fact control. Control breeds and continually feeds anxiety. Trying to control every outcome and anticipate every painful and devastating life occurence may or may not throw at you is not only fatal to your nervous system but also intensely draining. After a while you start to forget who you really are and what your goals and destination are in life. Anxiety is often accompanied by confusion.
Always second guessing yourself and the choices you make on a continual basis robs you from your confidence and inner peace. Believe me here, I am speaking from experience. Anxiety caused me to develop a sort of self loathing which now is no more but still did a pretty massive amount of damage in the past. This is the reason behind my vehement perspective that inner peace is in fact inner beauty.
Knowing your purpose in life and walking into a room like you belong there gives you a silent yet potent power that comes from within and that no amount of gossip or unnecessary hatred projected at you can steal from you. Standing firm in your sense of purpose can indicate to you when you are needed and maybe not wanted. It gives clarity. It makes it tolerable being misread and treated like an alien at times.
Inner peace, confidence and inner beauty are concepts that are strongly and undeniably linked. There are individuals that think and say that inner beauty is kindness and a generous heart. I am not here to say it is wrong but it is much deeper than expected. Kindness and generosity without discernment, self knowledge and boundaries equates to self destruction. Inner peace is also about cultivating and protecting a rich inner world because believe it or not the outer world can be cruel, ugly and chaotic. Protecting that inner parcel of peace is not an option but a requirement to every indivual. We all need a happy place within.
Dissentiently yours,
Joele Hubert.
