Living the life
It's time to start living the life you've imagined.
- Henry James
Very few people dare; dare to try dare to disrupt the routine or status quo. Today's message is about daring to live the life you imagined to the fullest.
"Oh! I will do it later." When you ask? When the kids will be older. When I will be retired. When I will lose weight. When I will have a life partner. When I will have a better job. When chicks will do backflips.
We make so many excuses instead of stepping out of our comfort zone. It does not have to be drastic but rather it has to be gradual. You want to start a personal very cozy garden. Start by learning, buying 2 pots and just one type of seeds. If it does not work out, well try again.
We live in an extremely critical world, where our dos and don'ts are harshly scrutinized and autopsied. Social comformity and acceptation bring status and an illusion of safety. Many times social media has been blamed for instilling a deeply rooted fear of failure. Most of us tend to post our brightest moments, our wins, we hide the messy process, the set backs and the unsuccessful attempts.
Some individuals are also afraid that the project imagined sounds much better on paper than in reality. Holding on tight to a dream, to the idea of something or someone better out there, feeding and fueling this intense fantasy is safer and cozier than risking a rude awakening. Sometimes the grass is not greener elsewhere, your lawn just needs a little more care and watering.
Someone once said that we need distraction and holidays because we feel miserable most of the time, causing the society in general to develop a viseral need for escapism. An off grider commented on the subject by adding that once they created the life of their dream, holidays were not a consideration. Everyday was an enjoyable experience.
Either you start building the life you will enjoy or you start enjoying the life you have.
